After the network card is installed and started under DOS, you can ping the IP address, but cannot ping the machine name. What is the reason? MSclient is used. The following prompt appears:
DGN0217: Remote name cannot be resolved.

Ping the machine name and pinging the address are not much different. The key is to resolve the machine name to an IP. If the landlord doesn't mind the trouble, you can manually add the machine name and IP to the hosts file in the ms network client directory.

Maybe you made a mistake in entering the command.
3rd floor: DOS originally has the function of PINGing the machine name.
PING the machine name.
It's the same principle as PINGing an IP.
