Sorry, I only just saw this thread. I haven't tried the usage you mentioned either. I don't know what good reason there is for using it that way?

Floppy disk image! If it's used on a CD, then looping can happen! And one floppy disk can boot different DOS versions! Even Linux versions!

I tried a few times today, and it seems it won't work. (Even if it could, that kind of looping still couldn't be achieved.)
The function you want (except looping), the Syslinux that bigcannon uploaded last time can do all of it. One big drawback of Syslinux is that it doesn't have the ability to boot from the hard disk |

You mean that Linux boot disk can boot any DOS version! That is, you can put 6.22;7.1;8.0 all in it!

Yes, SYSLINUX supports all versions of DOS, supports LINUX, and can also boot things like BLCD (that program for booting a CD boot disk from a floppy disk). SYSLINUX can be installed onto a floppy disk and into FAT16 partitions smaller than 1G.
As long as the capacity is enough, it's possible to put 6.22/7.1/8.0 all into it. |
