(a) Why is it that when I load "DEVICE=DUSE.EXE INT EMU CDW=3 DDW=3 XFER=32 DRIVES=2 CDD=USB-CD" in "config.sys", it stops responding (only the cursor keeps blinking)
(b) After I delete it, when I run some programs, it reports insufficient memory . How can I solve it!
(2) To load a USB mouse and keyboard, do I just need the two files "OHCI.EXE, UHCI.EXE"

Is this your config file? You'd better check the memory layout under DOS....

You need to understand the purpose of loading the options in the config file....

Please, experts, clear this up for me!!!

You loaded all the drivers at once, so how much DOS memory can possibly be left??? Some larger programs won't meet the requirements to run...

How can I get the best of both worlds?

I deleted the following programs, and on the original basis only loaded "OHCI.EXE, UHCI.EXE". Why do some programs such as kv3000 still quit as soon as they run, and also report insufficient memory??

From your config file, it can be seen that you only have the 640k conventional memory for DOS use. If you load all the USB drivers at once, the remaining memory won't be enough for kv. Also, what's the use of loading so many CD-ROM drivers???
Go to the boot disk section and download one of the boot disks made by the experts there and study it......
If you still have questions, then go to the beginner section and specifically discuss your config setup there....

DUSE and NTFSDOS are kings of conventional memory usage, especially when both are loaded at the same time, there is hardly any conventional memory left.

Wengier! I followed the modification method you provided on the "Single Fishing Forum" and loaded "OHCI.EXE and UHCI.EXE" in "AUTOEXEC.BAT", but as soon as it gets to loading "UHCI.EXE" it hangs. The screen shows the following prompt: "UHCI USB CONTROLLER INITIALIZED" and then the cursor just blinks underneath. Pressing any key is useless; I can only press "RESET" on the case. How can this be solved? Do I need to modify any other files too??? If it loads successfully, will
there be insufficient memory causing some programs to fail to run???
