Today, in order to find a better Wubi input method for TWAY, I searched online for a long time. Although I still didn't find a Wubi that was both small and easy to use, I did get something out of it: I found one called CLong Wubi. It “can hook into any input-method dictionary, and under UCDOS, Chengran CCDOS, Xishan SPDOS, Tianhui TWAY, Chaoxiang CXDOS, and Zhongguolong ACIOS Chinese character support systems, pressing ALT+F4 can enter input-method mode.” It feels pretty good, just a bit too large, so it isn't suitable for putting on a boot disk. Below is the file description:
CLONG.COM is the interface program for use under a Chinese character support system. .OVL is the basic dictionary file, .OVR is the auxiliary dictionary file, .RCM is the fault-tolerant dictionary file, and .GBK is the large GBK dictionary file containing 20,929 Chinese characters and words.
How to use it under a Chinese character support system
Just start any one of the above Chinese character support systems and run CLONG.COM as described below, and you can load the corresponding Chinese input method (ALT+F4):
Usage:CLONG
Where: is the dictionary filename, without extension; if omitted, the default is CLONG;
is the resident mode of the dictionary, including the following:
none both the auxiliary dictionary and the basic dictionary reside in extended memory;
the auxiliary dictionary or the basic dictionary resides directly on the hard disk;
the auxiliary dictionary or the basic dictionary resides in extended memory;
directly displays usage help information.
For example, after executing "CLONG -XX", both the auxiliary dictionary and the basic dictionary reside in extended memory; while "CLONG CLONG98 -XD" means that for the "Standard Wubi" input method, the auxiliary dictionary resides in extended memory and the basic dictionary resides on the hard disk. If you run only "CLONG", then all dictionaries reside in extended memory; otherwise the dictionaries are read directly from the hard disk.
You can also directly add the input method filename into the batch file that starts the Chinese character support system. The main functions are as follows:
1-0 selects the duplicate-code word group corresponding to the number
/;',.\ correspond to selecting the 1st, 3rd-9th duplicate-code characters/words
SPACE selects the second duplicate-code word group
ENTER ends the code input or ends word-group association
ESC terminates screen word capture operation
SHIFT+"<" delete whole word forward key
+"-" or "+" page backward or forward key
ALT+"`" unloads the input method from memory
ALT+"?" view the code corresponding to the single character before the cursor
ALT+"," settings function, SPACE or ENTER returns
ALT+"." screen word capture add/delete word group
ALT+";" add-word state toggle switch
ALT+"'" force save word function key
ALT+"\" online registration function key
ALT+"
" word-length control function key
ALT+1-ALT+0 repeatedly select duplicate-code word groups
CTRL+ALT+1-0 quickly delete the corresponding word group
CTRL+ALT+"
" Chinese/Western punctuation rule setting function key
If a registration prompt message appears, you can clear the prompt and continue input by pressing SPACE, ENTER, or ESC.
