I just got a PCDOS 7.0 system disk, but I don't know how to use it?
When the system can't boot, I want to use it to boot up and scan for viruses. Could you explain in detail what interface will appear after I insert it into the computer? What commands should I use? Many, many thanks!!! |

Your question is too broad.

Then just give a simple explanation!

After you boot with the PCDOS 7.0 system disk, you'll see what interface the computer shows. Antivirus under DOS isn't very useful.

I heard that scanning for viruses under DOS is better than in Safe Mode?

If I run into a virus that can't be removed in normal mode, I just restore the system directly. That way, no virus is left at all.

If you're only using PCDOS 7.0 for virus scanning, it's better to just use software like the DOS version of KV directly.
A lot of boot CDs also come equipped with antivirus software. As long as your CD itself isn't infected, booting with Wuyou is convenient too. Scanning for viruses in pure DOS (first you have to make sure the DOS system you booted into is virus-free) is cleaner than in Safe Mode. But this is a very old topic. These days, it's true that when a virus is found and it can't be removed in normal mode, many people just use system restore instead. [ Last edited by yiping1973 on 2006-10-21 at 08:15 ] |

Wouldn't booting directly from an antivirus software CD take you into DOS for virus scanning?
