Questions about USB CD-ROM DOS boot
System configuration:
I have two computers, both are IBM, both installed XP Professional operating system. One is R51 with built-in CD-ROM; the other is X60S without CD-ROM, equipped with an external USB small CD-ROM. The machine was tested with NERO 7 INFO TOOL as a SONY Q58A DVD-RW drive.
System environment:
Used GHOST to make R51.GHO and X60S.gho on the two machines respectively.
On the X60S machine, used the IMA file of WIN98 to burn two discs, one for booting R51 and one for booting X60S.
System problem:
After the two discs were made, both discs can be booted in the built-in CD-ROM of R51 and drive the CD-ROM, and use the GHO file in the CD-ROM for restoration. But when using the external CD-ROM to boot the X60S machine, it can be booted, but the CD-ROM cannot be accessed (no CD-ROM drive letter found), and the files cannot be accessed.
System problem analysis:
Initially determined that it is because the DOS CD-ROM driver (OAKCDROM.SYS) in this WIN 98 IMA file cannot drive the CD-ROM. I thought that when I installed XP on this X60S, I used this external CD-ROM to boot from the XP boot CD for installation, which shows that the XP CD-ROM driver is very strong. I also extracted the IMA file, but found that there are 6 IMA files on the disc, and I don't know which one can be driven, and I don't know which one is this CD-ROM driver. I also tried several other IBM USB driver IMA, and also the IMA files of several great gods, but it didn't work. I also searched the Internet for a long time and couldn't find the DOS USB SONY Q58A DVD burner CD-ROM driver. I found this website after searching for so many days, so I posted to ask everyone for help. Does anyone have such a CD-ROM driver SYS file? How to use it? Or how can I drive my CD-ROM?
