LZ, what kind of computer do you have? Why does it seem like you're installing the system all day long?

My computer only has XP installed, and other systems are deleted immediately after initial testing in virtual machines, and the files are saved by burning to discs!

The LZ is installing the system in a virtual machine, which is like learning to swim by the swimming pool, while we are really installing the system on real machines

I just hate that virtual machine, it takes up too much memory and CPU, and it takes too long to install the system in the virtual machine. Computers with poor configurations are afraid of it.
Dividing a temporary partition to install the system is not bad...

Still, set up a larger primary partition and keep it there, and try it out when needed. Otherwise, for systems like Vista and OS X that have very high requirements for configuration, it's difficult to test the actual effects. Unless you want to test the system and then spend money to suddenly upgrade the system configuration a lot. But then it doesn't seem worth it. The current XP is working quite well. It seems like it will still take two years to install Vista; the official version will come out next year.

What is the relationship between the files in the WIN2KA, WIN2KD, WIN2KP, and WIN2KS directories under the root directory of this CD and the 4 corresponding subdirectories under the ROOT directory? Does the installation automatically call the corresponding files in these 4 directories under the root directory?

I don't want my 4-month-old Thinkpad R60 to be out of warranty early. If I test those OSes of mine, I'm afraid I need to prepare 10 hard drives.
