=================First Article====================
You'll cry if you install it.
After installing Starry Sky Express and logging in to surf the Internet, Starry Sky Express automatically sends the host network card address to the server side. The server side will mark that you have used "Starry Sky Express" to dial up. Once the marking is successful, no matter what dial-up software or router you use later, you will not be able to dial up, showing a password error. Even reinstalling the system won't work.
Many people are using routers for ADSL dial-up. In this way, several computers can happily share the Internet through the router. The ADSL virtual dial-up of Telecom uses the PPPOE protocol, which Telecom can't change. Therefore, it's difficult for Telecom to restrict everyone from sharing the Internet.
Telecom has tried many times to block routers but failed. At the beginning, there was Network Sentry, which is equivalent to a network scanning software of Telecom. It continuously impacts some ports on the router, causing the router to be unable to work normally. But this software causes a large amount of network congestion. It's a very dangerous software under the premise that Telecom's line capacity is not expanded. The victims may first be Telecom itself. At the same time, current routers are no longer afraid of Sentry's scanning through firmware upgrades. The first attack failed.
Recently, Telecom invented a dial-up server called "Starry Sky Express". Telecom claims that this software can improve the Internet speed. 512K ADSL is directly upgraded to 1M, and 1M is upgraded to 1.5M. Someone in Xi'an has tried it, and there is no speed improvement at all. Moreover, Telecom didn't publicize it like that. Telecom sent people to install this software door to door. The only result after installation is that you may not be able to use the router to dial up.
Starry Sky Express will change your password and add a PPPOE password protocol conversion to your network connection. You still use your original password in the Starry Sky Express software, but the actual password sent by the PPPOE protocol is a converted set.
Mephisto discovered this phenomenon. He installed Starry Sky Express under Windows. When using the original password under Linux, he couldn't surf the Internet. Using SNIFFER to take a look, the actual password is a string of MD5 codes added to the original password. This MD5 code is calculated according to the username. For example, if your original password is aaaaaaa and the username is j88888888, after installing Starry Sky Express, the password may become aaaaaaa3D8CAB. This 3D8CAB is calculated from the username j88888888. But you still enter aaaaaaa as the password in Starry Sky Express, that is, you can't know the real password. Although the router uses the PPPOE protocol to dial up, you can't use it without knowing the real password.
So everyone who installs Starry Sky Express, whether you let Telecom people in or not, you have been tricked. And those who have been using routers and haven't tried this software are all normal.
Repeat again, after installation, you can't use routers or third-party operating systems such as Linux. If you don't install the software, Telecom people will ask you to sign, and never sign! Signing means compromise and has future troubles!
Some netizens reported that those who refuse to install the software may be threatened verbally by on-site staff, including disconnecting the network. Hope everyone don't be afraid!!
"Telecom Regulations of the People's Republic of China"
Article 41 Telecommunication business operators shall not have the following acts in telecommunication services:
(1) Restricting telecommunication users to use the services designated by them in any way;
(2) Restricting telecommunication users to purchase the telecommunication terminal equipment designated by them or refusing telecommunication users to use their own telecommunication terminal equipment that has obtained the access permit;
(3) Changing or changing the tariff standard arbitrarily or in disguise, or adding or adding charging items arbitrarily or in disguise in violation of state regulations;
(4) Refusing, delaying or terminating telecommunication services to telecommunication users without justifiable reasons;
(5) Failing to fulfill the commitments made publicly to telecommunication users or making false propaganda that is easily misleading;
(6) Deliberately making it difficult for telecommunication users or retaliating against telecommunication users who have filed complaints by improper means.
In addition: It is said that Telecom's requirement to install the Starry Sky Express software is also forced. It seems that it was sued by Americans and compensated 700 million yuan. It's related to the copyright issue of the dial-up protocol, so another new thing was made. I don't know if it's true.
=================Second Article====================
Transferred from MOP
Recently, many netizens have encountered the problem of random disconnection when surfing the Internet, and sometimes dialog boxes even pop up. Some netizens reported this situation to China Telecom's customer service. China Telecom will warmly tell you that they will send special personnel to solve this situation for you. Little do they know that this is the consequence of a virus program made by China Telecom itself invading your computer. It sounds terrifying, but it's indeed the truth. This is what my brother who works in the telecom bureau told me. Their own family's computers will also be infected with this virus, affecting Internet access. But once they are infected, they will reinstall the system and will never install that "Starry Sky Express" to solve it. Then someone will ask, what's the benefit for China Telecom to do this? Of course, there is. They just want to install that "Starry Sky Express" software that solves this problem on your computer. Now let's take a look at the harm caused by this "Starry Sky Express" software. Friends who don't believe can give it a try!
If you are a Telecom ADSL user, when you dial up to surf the Internet and open any web page, if the content as shown in the following picture appears, please don't do as it says and install that "Starry Sky Express" dial-up software.
So far, the problems found after installation are as follows:
1. After installing the "Starry Sky Express" software, you will not be able to let multiple computers surf the Internet in a shared or proxy way. Uninstalling is useless, and you must reinstall the system! There is currently no solution.
2. It will install a lot of garbage in your computer (this dial-up software itself is garbage). The dial-up software自带 by systems above XP supports the PPPOE protocol of ADSL and doesn't need it.
3. A large number of advertisements will appear, mainly related to Inter星空.
It's still unknown whether China Telecom has embedded monitoring or user information acquisition programs in this software.
In fact, it's not difficult to see what China Telecom's intention is. I hate such abhorrent behavior.
If you encounter Telecom personnel installing this software for any reason, please firmly stop it!!!
"Starry Sky Express" will automatically bind the MAC address of the user's network card on the server side of ×Telecom×. It says it's to protect the account, and it also restricts users from opening routers. At the same time, it has some other functions built-in similar to spyware: monitoring the user's Internet access situation, and whether there are multiple machine connections (local area network), etc......
(I have a question. If the user's MAC address is sent over, then if the user changes the network card, which is different from the previous network card information, will it lead to inability to surf the Internet or re-authentication? The router itself also has a MAC address. If the MAC can be spoofed, sending the router's MAC address to dianxin, then can you use the router to surf the Internet?
Why does China block words to make Starry Sky Express?
Main reason: fundamentally solve the situation of one line and multiple machines for ADSL users. Relieve bandwidth pressure. Secondary reason: increase income from the tertiary industry
Why can't you share the Internet after installing the Starry Sky Express blocked by China?
Reason: After installing this software, the system will automatically bind your broadband phone number and account, connect to the China blocked words central computer room, and change a parameter value similar to the PUK code (some people say it's the PING code) in the system of the central computer room. After this parameter is changed (for example, the default is 0, 0 means you can share the Internet, and when changed to 1, it restricts sharing), you will not be able to use the router or single-machine sharing to access the INTERNET. Currently, there is no complete way to help users who have installed this software get rid of the pain. The reason is probably that this software uses a very bottom-level data transmission protocol (such as TCP/IP) to filter at the source. So even if you uninstall this software, since the parameter in the system of the blocked words central computer room is still the changed parameter, you still can't share the Internet as before.
In addition, here's a relatively solution for everyone:
If you are installed by B and you want to restore the original state. Then you can directly call 10000, press 0, transfer to the data special line, and tell the person who answers the phone that after installing Starry Sky Express on your computer, the system crashed, and ask them to give a solution. At this time, the other party may change your restriction parameter back. But it depends on their mood....
Finally, I want to say that this software was developed by China blocked words entrusting relevant software companies with tens of millions of yuan. So currently, there won't be a relatively complete solution.... Unless... everyone switches to the broadband business of other network companies.
=======================================================
Telecom is too disgusting! BS it! Fortunately, I've been using router dial-up and haven't used this software yet!

Hearsay + baseless rumor

Haha, this is not what you call hearsay. Some of my friends have already fallen victim~ There's no way. Every time I connect and open the first web page, it's always China Interconnected Starry Sky, saying I didn't use Starry Sky Express and asking me to download it. Then I get disconnected from the internet once every few hours. Well, it's fine if it just disconnects, as long as it doesn't mess with me~ I use a router, so it can't do anything to me
