I downloaded NTFSPRO5 from the internet and installed it in the 98 boot disk. After running it, the NTFS hard drive was recognized. But when I tried to run SMARTDRV.EXE, I got the error:

There is insufficient XMS memory to load SMARTDrive.

Is there not enough memory?
I don't know how to set the memory. Please ask the experts for help, thank you.

NTFS itself has cache, no need for SmartDrv, besides, SmartDrv doesn't support NTFS

I checked the memory with MEM before running NTFSPRO, and all XMS were FREE. After directly entering NTFSPRO.EXE to run, I checked the memory again with MEM, and all XMS became USED. Is it that I used it incorrectly? After all XMS are used up, other programs can't run.

I tried NTFSPRO 4.03 and everything worked fine, but NTFSPRO 5 didn't work properly. It seems it's really a software issue.
