baslinux2.0 doesn't need any setup.
Just run boot.bat directly (according to its official website). Then why does it reboot after I run BOOT.BAT, and go into DOS? What went wrong there? |

I also tried booting with a blank boot disk (just booting into MSDOS71, without loading any other programs, including HIMEM, EMM386, etc.), but the problem was still the same.

The following is quoted from hit's post on 2003-4-30 18:24:01: It doesn't need a reboot at all!!! It can enter baslinux directly under DOS. It's the so-called Linux on a floppy disk. It's basically like a DOS application. It doesn't change anything, and it doesn't install anything, so after you reboot it's the same as before you ran it. Of course then you can't get into baslinux. But after starting baslinux, when shutting down you have to use the command under baslinux: shutdown -now. |

It's not that I rebooted manually, it reboots automatically after running BOOT.
I've already tried it on another WIN98 machine, and it can get in. So I'm trying to install it on my hard drive (dual hard drives), not sure if that will work, but I'll try it first anyway. But mount dev/hdc1 /hd or any other drive can't be logged into (master hard drive hda, slave hard drive hdc) What should I do? |

It should work. As I said before, it's only equivalent to a special DOS application.
I don't know what “mount dev/hdc1 /hd or any other drive can't be logged into” means. Does it mean you can't access the other drives? Seems like maybe you can't. I still don't really understand how to mount non-Linux-format drives. You probably need to add parameters after the command so it recognizes non-Linux drives. For example, for a FAT32 drive you need to add a parameter, but I don't remember the details... |
