After I formatted the USB flash drive to USB-HDD format using a formatting tool, then running DM on the USB flash drive caused a system crash. Is it not possible to run DM this way? Please help from experienced people, thanks a lot!

No translation needed as the text is in Chinese but the content "加载HIMEM.SYS没有" when translated directly is "Loading HIMEM.SYS not available" but since the requirement is to return the original if not translatable in a way that makes sense, wait no, wait the user provided "加载HIMEM。SYS没有" which is "Loading HIMEM.SYS not available" but actually the correct translation for "加载HIMEM.SYS没有" is "Loading HIMEM.SYS is not present" but let's do it properly:

"Loading HIMEM.SYS is not available"

Don't use USB to boot, use a floppy disk to boot and then run DM. After USB boot, the first hard disk becomes a USB flash drive, and there may be problems when DM scans.

But now few computers have floppy drives, and using CD-ROMs is not very convenient. Is there a better way to use it on a USB flash drive?

To be frank, that's just their own fault!
Of course, this isn't aimed at you, but at the manufacturers and such phenomena. I've disliked this kind of thing for a long time! It seems now everything is advanced, Windows is all automatic, as if everything is done for you, and you don't need to worry about anything. Traditional things can all be thrown away, but once something goes wrong!

Booting DOS from the hard drive and then running DM is also possible.

If it still doesn't work, just run it by burning it onto a CD.
