UMBPCI Latest Version V3.78 (2008.9.12) - China DOS Union Forum

A new version of UMBPCI is out.

Supports more chips.

First, I'll give my support. umbpci is really a great thing. Since having it, there's no need to use emm386 and qemm series anymore.

Personally, I feel that UBMPCI is much better than EMM in terms of compatibility.

However, the DOS drivers for SB PCI/Live! sound cards all require EMM386, and UMBPCI is not okay.

Is it necessary to use a sound card under DOS? For better effects, it's better to use Windows.

V3.66 has multiple versions. The E version seems to be the latest one.

Look at the description in the top floor attachment UMBPCI.TXT!

This is a high memory management software, which can provide up to 160K high memory for DOS.
Of course, the high memory provided varies depending on the machine environment.

After using this, it's only over 30k, while using emm386 it's over 60k

The compatibility of emm386 is not as good as UMBPCI. Also, the upper memory area (UMA) of different machines is different.

When using UMBPCI, even on a virtual machine, there is 80K of upper memory area (without adding other parameters).

I don't know what configuration your machine is? The upper memory area is so small.
