My system is Windows 2000, IE 6.0 SP1, DX 9.0C, BIOS is AMI BIOS. After installing MapleStory, when starting the game, the following dialog box appears and I can't play. What's wrong?

Maybe the DX version is too high, so the game can't recognize it.

Hehe, the first time I heard that a game needs a low-version DirectX, it's really strange. Isn't the high-version DX downward compatible? If the owner uses an internal code converter like Antarctic Star to convert the garbled code of that prompt, they will know what it says.

It should not be DX. I sent to other machines all are 9.0C, and the adventure island plays without problems. How to convert that garbled code prompted by the inner code converters such as Antarctic Star? It is not text!

Reinstalled the system several times, but still can't play MapleStory, and can't play Dance Dance Revolution either!

When I first saw the name "冒险岛", I thought it was referring to the old video game "Adventure Island". Later, I saw the English title in the window above and realized it was actually talking about the fun MapleStory game. It's surprisingly translated as "冒险岛". Well, I think its other Chinese translation "Maple Valley" is much better.

This game is called MapleStory, not MapleStory Online. It is stated in the "Frequently Asked Questions" on the official website of the game that even if DirectX is above 8.1, if the graphics card does not support the 3D engine, this prompt will appear. From this, it can be seen that the graphics card of the original poster is not up to standard.

I've changed several graphics cards but still can't play! There's no way, so I changed to an integrated motherboard, and surprisingly it can play. It's frustrating! It seems it's the motherboard's problem, but why is that?

Check the graphics card settings in the original motherboard BIOS to see if AGP 4x or 8x is disabled.
