My motherboard is very old and does not support USB boot. But the floppy disk space is too small and there is no burner. I wonder if there is any other way to achieve USB boot?

Mainly, it depends on the mainboard. You should at least know the brand and model of your own mainboard. Go to the website of its manufacturer to find the latest BIOS file suitable for this mainboard. If it doesn't support either, there's no way.

Use some hardware detection programs, such as the one I commonly use Astra!

It seems like this way, boot with a floppy disk, use software in the floppy disk to identify the USB flash drive. Then you can use the USB flash drive under DOS.
In addition, refreshing the BIOS is generally useless unless it is stated that this function is supported.
