China DOS Union

Boss: Have you found Real/32 DOS 7.9x? I only found the registered version of Real/32 DOS 7.6 and three upgrade versions: 7.6x-7.63, 7.7x-7.74, 7.8x-7.83. I don't know what the characteristics of Real/32 DOS are. After searching online, it all leads back to the new DOS era
Also, "ROM-DOS 7.10 full version", how to convert it into an installation version or install it?

I used to see this DOS in the old New DOS Era but didn't pay attention to what it was at all. After searching, according to the statement on the FreeDOS website:

It is a multitasking, multi-user protected mode DOS, the successor of DR-Multiuser DOS.

I have played with DR-Multiuser DOS. This DOS can run multiple tasks simultaneously, and even run several Windows at the same time. When starting this DOS, you need to enter a username and password.

... One of the biggest advantages of DOS is that it doesn't require protected mode itself. In this way, it can act as a very powerful pre-OS environment (similar to ISL in minicomputers and lilo/grub on PCs). For example: execute a maintenance Perl script before booting the system; pop up a system menu; execute some sh scripts according to the menu; load the specified OS.

Hehe, but this thing should be good for embedded systems. Where to download it?

Real/32 DOS 7.6x version does not support FAT32, which is the most troublesome.

ROM-DOS 7.10 full version can be used directly, just use the SYS command to make the system bootable.

Boss: Can you make the full version of ROM-DOS 7.10 into an "installer version"?

It's the "Digital Research - MultiUser DOS v5.10" and "Digital Research Concurrent DOS v3.01" from the Romanian website last time. I have successfully installed both. I forgot the specific installation method. I made a bootable disk from the files it provided through some complicated methods and then installed it. I still have the made bootable disk and can directly boot for installation.

"Digital Research - MultiUser DOS v5.10" can be installed in vpc. "Digital Research Concurrent DOS v3.01" cannot boot in vpc and can be started with qemu.

The interfaces of these two DOS systems after installation are very similar to the real/32 you posted on the 3rd floor. They support multi-task switching. I have also run Windows 1.03 and Windows 3.0 simultaneously in this DOS, and can switch between the two Windows using shortcut keys.

Recently http://free.ys168.com/ doesn't seem to allow anonymous downloads casually.

I applied for a cloud disk at http://www.5upan.com/. It is similar to ys168. You can give it a try. Its speed is similar to ys168, and the capacity is larger than ys168.

I uploaded the installable versions of "Digital Research - MultiUser DOS v5.10" and "Digital Research Concurrent DOS v3.01" to http://fujianabc.5upan.com/ in the evening.

Instructions:
"Digital Research - MultiUser DOS v5.10" can be installed by booting with the first disk and executing install;
"Digital Research Concurrent DOS v3.01" contains two installation disks. VPC cannot boot, but QEMU can. For demonstration convenience, the compressed package contains a QEMU image and a QEMU lightweight version. Just execute "Start QEMU.cmd" to start "Digital Research Concurrent DOS v3.01"

The authenticity of romdos 7.1 (3.73MB) is still being verified, so I dare not send it to you! I will send it as soon as I am sure!

After downloading and testing your files, the following was found:
1. "Digital Research - MultiUser DOS v5.10" has a "memory cannot be read" fault when run in VWare and cannot be installed. When installing in VC, there is also a fault at the end, but restarting VC does not affect running the DOS system.
2. "Digital Research Concurrent DOS v3.01" has an unreadable fault in VC and cannot be installed. In VWare, it only shows the following picture and then stops moving!
Neither is very perfect. The later REAL 32DOS is relatively more complete!
