md d:\ss..\

This way it becomes a folder that can't be deleted

The key is, how can it also be hidden

I can't hide it anymore,
or if you have some other way to create this kind of hidden, read-only folder that can't be deleted by normal methods

This is nothing more than a network-mapped folder.

You can do it with WINRAR.
1. First create a new folder such as SS
2. Under DOS run ATTRIB SS +R +H +S +A
3. Open WINRAR and rename SS to SS..\ in WINRAR
4. Done.

With this method, a folder created this way simply cannot be deleted by normal methods.
After changing it, there is no way to use ATTRIB to restore the attributes.

Also, RD SS..\ can't delete it either. Because this is the read-only attribute.
This sentence is wrong, it can be deleted. Thanks to electronixtar in post #6 for the reminder

md d:\ss..\
After creating a folder this way. Although you can't use attrib
you can first create a hidden folder. Then inside this folder create another ss..\ folder

This may also achieve the purpose of hiding it

只蠮..

You added four attributes
If you don't add the read-only attribute. It should work, right.

The OP can give it a try

The one in reply #3 works, many thanks, and thanks for the other help too :D
Haha, finally got it working

Before, I always created a folder like this inside another folder, then hid the upper-level folder

I mainly use it when installing MAXDOS for newbies
and for restoring GHOST, this way putting the .GHO in this folder is very safe
If you also allocate a bit of virtual memory on this partition, it's even safer

It's very simple, first Run CMD
mk d:\g..\
This way there will be a g. folder on drive D, and this folder is generally not easy to delete
In Start -> Run, enter d:\g..\ and press Enter to open it, or in cmd use start d:\g..\ and it can be opened
No matter how many files you put in the g.. folder, the folder will show 0 bytes
If you need to delete this folder
rd d:\g..\
If there are files inside then you need /s
rd d:\g..\ /s

Hehe, kind of interesting

At first glance it feels even better than some file encryption masters.

Right now I use this method to store some files I don't want others to see , it's very good

A very nice innovation. By the way, there's still one thing I don't understand. If it's under WIN 2K, you said using start d:\g..\ can view the contents under the directory, but I tried it several times, and under WIN 2K this directory can't be opened. It says something about not being able to find some component, please make sure that ............ is correct. What's going on?
