The laptop has a built-in floppy drive, but no CD-ROM drive. The laptop hard disk has been formatted, and I'm getting ready to reinstall the system. I used the drivers from here, but still can't access the USB CD-ROM drive. Please, experts, help me out. Or if there's any other good way, please help me think of one.

Mainly, DOS just can't find the USB device. I changed config.sys several times and it still doesn't work. It always shows no device found. I'm really getting anxious to death.

The config is as follows menuitem=CD, Start computer with CD-ROM support. menuitem=NOCD, Start computer without CD-ROM support. menuitem=HELP, View the Help file. menudefault=CD,30 menucolor=7,0 device=himem.sys /testmemff DEVICE=USBCD.SYS device=USBASPI.SYS device=Di1000dd.SYS device=himem.sys /testmemff device=himem.sys /testmemff files=10 buffers=10 dos=high,umb stacks=9,256 devicehigh=ramdrive.sys /E 2048 lastdrive=z Please advise, moderator. All the files being executed are on the boot disk.

The loading order is reversed. It should be changed to: DEVICE=DUSE.EXE DEVICE=USBASPI.SYS DEVICE=USBCD.SYS It must be in the above order, remember that!
