I installed Windows 2003 and after making C: NTFS I found the problem is huge! - China DOS Union Forum

Because I was installing Windows 2003, I formatted C: as NTFS. But then on the Windows 2003 system I had just installed, I found that two pieces of software most important to me could not be used:
the ADSL dial-up software WinPoET v6.0 (its good uninterrupted ADSL auto redial/reconnect function had solved my problem of frequent ADSL disconnections),
and also my genuine KV antivirus—under Windows 2003, as soon as I enable the real-time function it blue screens; so I decided to reinstall XP, but I discovered that under 2003 I can't install XP;
under DOS I can install it, but after file copying is completed, the installer automatically restarts, and after booting up, instead of continuing installation, it goes straight into Windows 2003 (I think this is because C:'s NTFS is incompatible with my other partitions' FAT32 format), and I also tried installing 98 but the installer says it also can't be installed on NTFS;
in the end I decided to use the DOS version of PartitionMagic PQMAGIC7.0 to delete this C: drive or change its format. But then I found that PQMAGIC7.0 says it cannot run on C: in NTFS format
and higher versions also can't run under 2003.

I truly hope the many experts here can save me and show me a way! *

Use spfdisk or diskgen.

It's all in Chinese, very easy to use. After running it, select drive C, delete it and recreate it as FAT32, then format it and that's it. If anything is unclear, post again.

Can't spfdisk directly change the system ID?

You can use the Chinese version of SMAGIC 4.0.

I think spfdisk is easier to use, and it's still being developed!!

Try using convert C: /FS:FAT32 /v

In issue 11 of the magazine 《Computer Applications Digest》 (coming out at the end of this month), I have an article called 《Creating Something from Nothing Is Easy Too》, which includes some application tips for it.
