Can the onboard AC97 on an 810 really not work under DOS? There doesn't seem to be any driver for DOS, so what should I do, moderator?

Sorry, I forgot to set a title. I checked with set under windows, and it was a220 d1 i5 t4 p330, so I put those addresses into autoexec.bat, but after booting DOS there was still no sound

Then did you install the sound card driver for pure DOS?

For AC97 to produce sound, you must load the driver first

For Intel 810 boards, I searched online for ages and still couldn't find anything. It seems there is no AC97 driver for the 810.

I already tried it, it doesn't work. It first has to detect a VIA sound card, and then that's it. No way around it.

Mine is an 815ep, and it can't produce sound either, so I simply went and bought a sound card.

My SiS 735 sound card also can't produce sound. But several of my other sound cards, including ESS688, Sound Blaster AWE 64 Value, and Sound Blaster PCI 128, have no problem producing sound under DOS (MS-DOS 7.10).

My ESS1868 can also produce sound under DOS
