China DOS Union

Now GRUB for DOS (0.4.2pre4) can finally support running under EMM386 and can return to DOS through the quit command, which are very useful functions. However, I just tried it on my new computer's real machine and found that if I load EMM386 and then run GRUB on this computer, the result of using the quit command is not returning to DOS, but the system automatically restarts. I have tried skipping all contents in CONFIG.SYS/AUTOEXEC.BAT except the following two lines, and the problem still exists:

DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS

Note: I did not find this problem when testing on another old computer, so it may be related to some compatibility.

Use the new beta version, test with grub.exe on http://grub4dos.jot.com/, it should be okay.

There is a small BUG in pre4, causing failure when quitting.

Is it the GRUB.EXE of 160,296 bytes in the page? I tried again just now and found that the problem still seems to exist, and it still restarts automatically after entering quit.

That file has been changed many times, mainly to test the running problems under Win98. It contains a lot of hardware initialization code, which may be the cause of the problem. Wait for the next release. It is going to be released after the startup problem under 98 is solved.
