I'm a loyal WINDOWS user (all pirated copies). I only know a little about DOS too. I always hear people talking about Linux, so I want to learn it too. Does anyone have any study materials on it?? Post one, so everyone can learn~~

There are lots of related books, and they're easy to find. The installation process may be more suitable for transitioning from Windows

Before using it, it's best to find a book and read through it systematically, without demanding a complete understanding
If you're not confident, you can try it in a virtual machine first, but the speed is generally very slow, and it feels extremely uncomfortable to use
Be sure to back up important data. Good luck

If you're only just playing around with it, livecd is recommended

If you want to use it, Ubuntu is recommended; you can get CDs for free
If you want to build a server, FreeBSD is recommended
If you want to follow the trend, Fedora Core 5 is recommended

I think REDHAT (RH for short) is easier for newbies to get started with, and most tutorials online are for RH. Also, RH books are the easiest to find in bookstores
