I installed the full version of MSDOS7.1, and while using it I found that no matter which directory I'm in, I can use any built-in program.
For example, the EDIT that comes with MSDOS is originally under H:\DOS, but I can still directly type EDIT in any directory to start the program, even though there is no EDIT file in that directory. But the WIN98 boot disk I made myself can't do that. I have to enter the directory containing that program file before I can start it. What tool is used to make this function work? Can you introduce in detail how to use it?? |

Set it with the set command
set path=specific directory (can be multiple, separated by semicolons) dos will look for commands in the specific directories you set (searching in order) After reading this thread, you'll probably know how to do it! [ Last edited by xjmxjm1234 on 2006-5-6 at 13:36 ] |
