Out of curiosity, I want to install Microsoft Windows 1.0. What do I need to prepare?

It should run under pure DOS, for example pure MS-DOS 7.10. Then try entering the WIN command for Windows 1.0.

No, it says the DOS version is wrong, then it shows a bunch of garbled stuff, and keeps beeping nonstop.
DOS 6.22 is the same. Do I need to use an even lower version? Too bad I don't have one. |

Try using setver to change the version.

If you use SETVER or the like to change the version number to 3.30, it will definitely work. But when I ran WIN 1.0 under MS-DOS 7.10, I didn't change the version number.
