To achieve point-to-point communication or broadcast communication through a network card under DOS, it may be better to use the IPX protocol.
Could some expert give me a few pointers, or where is there any documentation?

IPX is already used by very few people, although its structure is quite good.

For TCP/IP you can use WatTCP, a software package developed by the University of Waterloo. It includes commands such as PING, Telnet ... but you must have a network card packet driver.
