Do everyone say that MAME can make the INTEL AC97 integrated sound card make sound? Just now I tried it, and an error said "Sound card initialization failed" How to set it up?

When the interface for selecting the sound card appears, just select 3, which is "Chipset integrated AC97 (for Pure DOS)".

MAME doesn't have an interface for selecting sound cards. The one with the sound card selection interface is that AC97.EXE, right? I also ran it. Just selected this 3, saying found INTEL INTEGRATED AC97. But then when running MPXPLAY and MAME, both said sound card detection failed! It is said that integrated sound cards are divided into hardware and software types, and I don't know whether it's hardware or software... In MAME.CFG, you need to set soundcard = -1 to make the sound card selection interface appear. That AC97.EXE is not a driver, just for viewing. Also, the latest version of MPXPLAY can directly support Intel AC97 sound cards.

Ah Blame me for not changing the speaker plug. Actually, it has worked, right! Changed and plugged the speaker plug, and there is sound! So happy! Actually this INTEL AC97 old problem has made sound under DOS! Both MAME and MPXPLAY 1.53 can!!

This MPXPLAY is amazing! It can actually make the integrated INTEL AC97 DOS issue sound! You know, this might be a soft sound card! What principle does it use to achieve this?

Can via ac97 can produce sound in mame?
