Can use Chinese BBS in ARACHNE web browser!
Recently developing Chinese BBS that can be used in ARACHNE web browser.
Please support it!!!

I really can't laugh.
Because I forgot to back up data when reinstalling the system last time.
All the programs written before are gone.

Have to start over.

Progress as follows:

1. The development of Chinese BBS that can be used in ARACHNE web browser is successful.

2. The区位 code input method has been completed.

3. GB/Chinese character pictures have been collected (full version).


There is one very important job which is: WEB-QQ/NET-QQ:
The WIN32 version has been completed.

###After functional testing, we will open the UDP communication protocol, part of the HTTP communication protocol.

Can Arachne display and input Chinese characters? If yes, strongly support!

Recruit several volunteers:

Work: Collect Chinese characters.

Requirements: Chinese characters from area 21 to area 87 in GB2312. Approximately 4000 Chinese characters.

Image format: 50*50 16-color bmp, white background with blue characters.

Hope to cooperate in division of labor to speed up development progress...

First, let's talk about the method of ARACHNE Chinese to make us feel it!

This is indeed good news. Unfortunately, I have no research on Chinese character inclusion. If ARACHNE can support Chinese, then entering the China DOS Union forum under DOS would feel much better than it is now. Some people want to live comfortably without Windows, but accessing this forum requires Windows. LYNX currently doesn't support this forum well, and entering it results in a mess of garbled text. If DOS doesn't support Chinese browsing of the China DOS Union forum, while discussing how powerful and how to revive DOS under Windows, but once realizing that the DOS browser in China can't browse the China DOS Union forum, it just feels unpleasant.

1. You must be able to access the internet and use ARACHNE normally.
2. My BBS comes with a Chinese system and a pinyin (full pinyin) input method. You can not load the local Chinese system.
3. You can browse most Chinese web pages through my proxy server (being debugged).
Hope everyone will support a lot.

As long as you make a Chinese platform that supports UNICODE, Lynx can work well.
Lynx + CCDOS97 can handle many GB code websites, and + Yitian can handle most of the forums in Taiwan.
There's no need to consider forum monsters like Discuz! that use ActiveX.

Well, everyone, let's come up with some ideas and organize to create a Chinese platform that supports UNICODE, and then browsing Chinese web pages under DOS will be all set. This direction is worth considering carefully.

Supporting Chinese characters in image form is probably not very fast.
Could we consider using 32-bit command-line programs to support double-byte characters...

The support for Chinese in IE5 for Win3.x is actually not very good, and the display effect is often not satisfactory. Moreover, it does not support Unicode Chinese.

When using win3X, there was no network yet, so I never used DOS to access the internet. It seems that now it's quite convenient to virtualize a DOS system :)

Who said there was no Internet during Win3.x? There was already during Windows 1.0. But it was only available in a few universities in the United States.
