How can I use DOS commands to repair this file? The machine won't boot now. If anyone knows, please help me. Thanks.

Assuming your system is XP and the directory is C:\Windows, run this under pure DOS:
copy c:\windows\repair\system. c:\windows\system32\config\system.sav When it prompts whether to overwrite the original file, just press the Y key. |
