Of course! DOSes that are still being updated now include: FreeDOS, ROM-DOS, etc.; possibly also MOE-DOS, RxDOS, PTS-DOS, PTS-DOS Pro, etc.; as well as DOSes under development, such as PowerDOS and so on.

DOS now doesn't even have a visual programming software tool, most of it is still stuck in real mode, and it has no value at all, except of course for installing and formatting. It doesn't have a beautiful interface like Windows. It's still just dead, rigid commands. This is the main reason.
