You can't have too high expectations for DOS. DOS is just for fun and patching the system. The really useful stuff still depends on Windows. There's no way, that's just reality.

miniQQ is definitely not executable under DOS. This is a command-line QQ. I haven't tried it under DOS.

There are many similar software under dos/win32. I remember when I used a 386DX-40 (bought for more than 10,000 yuan) in 1994, there were many software for chatting in the character environment under dos..........

There were a large number of dial-up BBS like CFIDO back then, but they have now disappeared.
