Hello everyone,

I'm new here. I encountered a small problem today when using MSDOS7.1! I specifically ask for advice! Thank you

My system is XP, and both C and E drives are in NTFS format. I used USBOO to make my USB flash drive into a USB bootable disk (the boot is the same as the bootable disk made under XP), and I also put MSDOS7.1 in this disk. I want to start the MSDOS7.1 after booting from the bootable disk, so that my system can support the CD - ROM and NTFS, but I don't know how to use it to start MSDOS7.1 under DOS! ?

I specifically ask for advice from everyone, thank you

Booting MS-DOS 7.1 under DOS? Is this like looking for a donkey while riding a donkey?

No need for a USB flash drive; you can directly boot into DOS 7.1 under XP.

Install this software: http://nufans.net/clone/grub_vfloppy_corpnet_v4.exe

After downloading, install it directly under XP, then restart, and select GRUB or Vfloppy from the XP boot menu to enter DOS 7.1. However, to access NTFS partitions, more software is needed.

Thanks for the reply from the third floor!

I know what you mean! But that's not what I mean!

I just want to use a simplest DOS on the USB flash drive, and use it to boot the machine at the appropriate time. The startup disk made under XP does not have the CD-ROM support function, so I want to put MSDOS7.1 in the startup disk made under XP. When I boot the machine with the USB flash drive, I will boot msdos7.1 when I need to use the CD-ROM, so that the speed will be faster!

I don't know if there is a way to achieve it. ! ?

Thanks

The method I use is the most convenient and also the fastest. Moreover, it supports CD-ROM drives, network under DOS, etc.

I understand what you mean, but it's not likely to be realized. You want to be able to select and boot two DOS systems (one is the DOS of XP, and one is MSDOS 7.1) on a USB flash drive. This is a bit difficult. The DOS of XP is basically useless, it's better to just use DOS 7.1 directly.

Is this a pure DOS when DOS 7.1 is started under XP?
