AW97 is a Chinese character system developed by Zhangjiagang Aiwen Computer Company. As far as I know, this is the only Chinese character system under DOS that supports the GBK large character set. It can display and print about 20,902 Chinese characters and symbols in the GBK character set, supports the direct screen writing technology, and most Western software can run directly under this system with good compatibility.

This system comes with a pinyin input method that can support the GBK large character set. This pinyin input method can input all Chinese characters in the large character set.

Currently, in addition to the pinyin input method that comes with this system, the DOS version of Ziranma from Beijing Daziran Company can also input the GBK large character set. Moreover, Ziranma supports two input methods: pinyin method and cut shape method. The pinyin method is similar to ordinary pinyin input methods. The cut shape method is a great innovation. It can input any Chinese character without knowing the pinyin of the Chinese character. For example, the character "镕" can be split into "金" and "容" parts. Then, the cut shape input of the character "镕" is "jinrong", of course, there will be repeated codes. However, because the opportunity to input GBK Chinese characters is relatively small, it does not have much impact on the input of Chinese characters, and you can also reverse-find the pinyin code of the Chinese character through this method. For the specific use of the cut shape method, you can refer to the homepage of Daziran Company: http://www.zrm.com.cn.

File introduction:
aw97.exe: The packaged file of the Chinese character system. Directly execute this file, and a directory aw97 will be generated. The installation program is contained in this directory. Execute install.exe to install. When prompted to insert the disk, just press Enter. After the installation is complete, you can use this system. At this time, the Chinese character input method cjkin contains shape-based code, pinyin, and Ziranma. Of course, this Ziranma does not support the gbk character yet, but pinyin can support it.

First perform the following operations:
Rename aw971.rar to aw97.exe
Rename aw972.rar to aw97.r00
Rename aw973.rar to aw97.r01
(Corresponding according to the order displayed on the screen)
Then execute aw97.exe to extract. For specific operations, refer to the above content

Does this system support code table compilation? If possible, I want to add the Wubi input method.

It's really great. After using AW97, not only can I normally display Chinese long filenames in GBK characters when using DOSLFN under DOS, but also when using the Lynx browser under DOS, I can normally browse the traditional Chinese parts of the posts posted by Roy and Dark-Destroy and others in this forum, and I can input both simplified Chinese characters and traditional Chinese characters with it. Thanks!
Teacher Mo, if possible, please add the Wubi input method to it! I'm now using its pinyin input method to post here, but pinyin input is really too slow.

Is there any way to run the AW97 system in the DOS window of WINDOWS? After all, most of my work is already inseparable from WINDOWS. Thank you!

Its compatibility is very good, can it run in the DOS window? But how to make it support Wubi input method?

It doesn't work under the DOS window. At least it doesn't work on my side. As soon as I run it, there is a prompt like "This DOS mode can only run under pure DOS" and so on. Forcibly entering, the screen below is garbled, the top is a colorful mess, sometimes a blank white, and it can't be used at all. Does anyone know how to run it? Thanks.

I'm very sorry! I also don't know if I can compile the code table or add the Wubi input method.

But if you have the natural code DOS version, you can use the Wubi input method! In a few days, I can upload a popular version of natural code, which can support pinyin and Wubi input methods. Among them, the pinyin input method can support GBK code!!!!!

And the pinyin input method has many phrases!!!!! It's very convenient to input!!!!! For specific usage, please refer to the natural code input method. The address is: http://www.zrm.com.cn

In addition, there's no need to run it in the DOS window of Windows because the DOS window in Windows itself supports GBK characters!!!!! The input method in Windows can also be used in it!!!!!

Why does it prompt that the CJKBIG.F16 file is not found when I enter CJKDOS /22 to enable BIG5 support? Is this AW97 incomplete?

I don't know either. Maybe it's incomplete. In fact, it didn't provide the big5 font at all!!!

Oh, I see. But the DOS window does support GBK characters indeed.
