This one is also a beta version, released together with Vista beta. When Vista is released as a final version, WinPE 2.0 will also have a final version. At that time, Microsoft's website will have free downloads of WinPE 2.0. Now WinPE 2004 and WinPE 2005 can be downloaded on Microsoft's website.

WinPE 2.0 is the core of Vista, just like DOS is the core of Win98. Hehe, Microsoft still can't forget DOS~~~

The article cited by the LZ mentions:
I like this feature. Linux can usually be installed from the hard disk, and it would be great if Windows could be installed from the hard disk in the future : ) |

The moderator upstairs, booting WinPE from the hard drive is a function that has been available since WinPE 1.0. In WinPE, you can load the ISO image with a virtual CD - ROM to install the system from the hard drive. Now I almost always install the system this way.

Well, I'm not very familiar with WinPE. If you are proficient in this area, are you interested in introducing it to everyone, step by step teaching everyone how to do it? Here it's just started, and there are indeed few people, hoping everyone will support a lot!

Only in this way can you install XP/2003 from an ISO file placed on an NTFS partition.

Tell me the installation method. My WINPE can hardly open any windows. May I ask which DLLs need to be registered?

Please ask fujianabc to explain how to use PE to load a virtual CD to install the XP system. From my understanding, in PE, run DAEMON to load the ISO system installation CD on the NTFS (or FAT32) partition and run the installation. However, during the XP installation process, after restarting, it requires inserting the installation CD, especially for the system CD with SP2. But after restarting, the PE is no longer there, let alone DAEMON. How to achieve inserting again?

Don't use daemon in PE, use Microsoft's own virtual drive, no need to install.
http://www.cn-dos.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=20633&fpage=1 After loading the ISO, don't use setup.exe to install, use winnt32.exe to install. Before copying files, select to copy all installation files to the hard disk. After restarting, no need for the CD or ISO. |

It seems that winnt.exe is used to install the XP system under pure DOS, right?
