I have an old machine with no CD-ROM drive, the hard disk has no partitions, and Windows 98 is installed. Now I want to reinstall 98, what should I do? Thanks. I want to install from the hard disk, but without partitions I can't format it. I saw the floppy boot disks on the forum, but I don't really understand them. Please help me out. How exactly can I reinstall the system?

First: take a floppy disk to another computer and make a boot disk
Then: take your hard disk to another computer and COPY a WIN98 installation onto it

Boot into DOS from the floppy and enter FDISK to partition it
I don't need to explain the rest of the installation, right?

Do I need to format the hard disk first before partitioning? If I want to keep the things currently on the hard disk, can I just partition it directly like that? Otherwise there would be no way to keep the 98 installation files on the hard disk. Thanks!
