Waited for more than a month, ghost 8.3 only has ghost.exe.

Today, the full version of ghost 8.3 is finally released. Download here:

http://www.crsky.com/soft/4615.html

For those who don't want to download the entire ghost, I have extracted the most useful few tools from ghost 8.3 and placed them in the software directory of http://free5.ys168.com/?fujianabc:

ghost83dos.rar contains the DOS version of ghost, gdisk, omnifs from ghost 8.3

ghost83win.rar contains ghost32, ghost explorer, and GhostSrv under the Windows platform; the latter two are Chinese versions

GhRegEdt.rar is a new tool in ghost 8.3, used to modify the system registry under DOS, regardless of whether the system is on fat or ntfs

In addition, I intercepted the detailed usage methods of gdisk, omnifs, and GhRegEdt from the ghost help. These three tools are very useful under DOS. You can refer to them.

Symantec Ghost latest seems to be 10.0. I have it, it's the bootable version. Why did I go back again? Remember enterprise version 7.5 - 8.0 - 8.2 - 9.0 - 10.0, personal version 2002, 2003

Not bad, after reading an introduction, it says it can support GHO files larger than 2G.

I remember that the enterprise version is 7.5 - 8.0 - 8.2 - 9.0 - 10.0, and the personal version is 2002, 2003

Version 10.0 is the personal version, called Norton Ghost. After Symantec acquired PowerQuest (the company that developed Partition Magic) in 2004, the personal version of Ghost was no longer based on the original Ghost. Ghost 9.0 - 10.0 can all be regarded as upgraded versions of the original PowerQuest DriveImage or PowerQuest V2i, and the real last personal version of Norton Ghost is Ghost 2003.
(I have no good feelings towards so-called Ghost 9 and Ghost 10 at all, and I never use them. They simply can't be used under DOS)

The enterprise version is called Symantec Ghost, which has been using the old Ghost and upgrading on that basis. From
7.5 - 7.7 - 8.0 - 8.2, and then to 8.3, this 8.3 first appeared online on March 8 this year.

In my impression is that ghost7.7 only has a win32 version, and this 8.3 is similar, also appearing alone on the Internet. I use ghost2003u2, which is very easy to use. I have tested 8.2 on multiple machines and encountered problems where cloning cannot be done.

Oh, I also thought that the 8.2 version was the best. No wonder there are often problems. I thought there was a fault with my computer. It was when cloning under DOS. When it was almost done but not finished, the computer suddenly shut down automatically. When restarted, the hard disk was blank. When making an image, there was only a 0-byte file, but a lot of system space was lost. Only by formatting the partition could it be recovered. Now I have to install a dual system and use GHOST32 to clone under Windows, but the speed is very slow!

Is there any major improvement compared to 8.1?

In addition to this 16-bit DOS version of Ghost, I haven't seen other files of Ghost 8.3 so far. Looking forward to Ghost 32, gdisk, Ghost Explorer, omnifs of 8.3. Compared with 8.2, this version no longer automatically splits GHO files larger than 2G into 2G each. Other updates can probably be found online.

It's not too late to use it when there are ghost32 8.3 and ghost explorer 8.3.
