MenuetOS is an amateur operating system developed for x86 (IBM-compatible) computers. It is a mini operating system written entirely in assembly language (32-bit), so it is smaller, faster, and the system itself occupies very few system resources for applications.
Features of Menuet OS: - Multitasking, multithreading - Graphical user interface, can reach 32-bit color, 1280x1024 resolution - Program development is easier than systems like Windows and Linux - IDE environment: comes with application and kernel editing and compilation tools - Completely open source code (GPL) - TCP/IP protocol stack, PPP and local area network - HTTP, MP3, Mail servers, 3D maze - IRC, http, nntp and tftp clients - Free interface, windows can change "skins" - Can be installed on just a 1.44M floppy disk! It seems like the virtual machine can't be installed. It always reaches "All set - press ESC to start" and then "Unmasking all IRQs" appears. So depressed...
