All are in the same local area network, same subnet, same gateway. I can ping other machines with DOS, and can also ping the DOS machine on my machine (XP). The DOS machine name is also in the workgroup of Network Neighborhood, but it simply can't be opened and can't be shared! Mapping the drive in DOS with net use z: \\xxx\xxxx gives an error: error 53: The computer name specified in the network path cannot be located.
DOS system MS-DOS 7.1, installed Microsoft Network Client 3.0, installed protocols NWLink IPX, netbeui, TCP/IP, no mistakes

Please help, thanks!

No one pays attention? Or do I not make myself clear enough!

Got it by myself! Need to load the Netbuie protocol! There is no such protocol under XP, so you have to install it manually!

Hey brother, I'm asking you, can you access DOS under XP?

There is also a permission issue. You may need to enable the GUEST user in 2000 or XP, or set up an account for the DOS client and configure the permissions of the account
