Hello, all you Windows experts!
Right now, after trimming down Win 3.X, we can install it on a floppy disk and use it. But Windows 3.X has already been eliminated after all, and there is very little software that can run on it now, so Win 3.X is not very practical today. Windows 98 is different, though. It is still in widespread use now, and there is also a lot of software that can run on it, so I think we should try to find a way to install Windows 98 on a floppy disk for use.
I think everyone will say this is pure fantasy; actually, I also feel it is not very likely, but I want to call on all the experts here to give it a try and find ways to reduce its size as much as possible. For example, using the English Windows 98 as the basis could make the functions as simple as possible, so as to trim down its size. In short, as long as we can get the Windows 98 GUI system working, that will do.
I hope all the experts can research this together, thanks

Recently, a 67-year-old foreign computer enthusiast claimed that he had successfully reduced the huge Windows 9X operating system to 40MB. This is not compression—it really takes up only 40MB of hard disk space. After compression, Windows 9X can boot successfully in a matter of seconds.

It is said that this old fellow even boldly released a free CD and user manual so that more people could try out his masterpiece. He posted all the information on the "PC Advisor Forum." Everyone can register on the forum and view the related materials. At present, 500 readers have already left comments on it: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/index.cfm/go/discuss.thread/threadid/76285/forumid/1

The reduced system contains only 1339 system and application files in total. The 98SE released by Microsoft has 9318 files. He said that the reduced system he created uses the Microsoft Windows 98SE kernel 100%, and that the reduced system only keeps the core of the Windows system, omitting many unnecessary files. He said that only Microsoft Windows 98SE could be modified in this way, but LINUX could not.
