Hello everyone. I'm a newbie. I only know some basic commands. Now I want to make a DOS boot disk. I downloaded DOS622 from the Internet, but it's just some programs. I don't know how to boot this DOS622. Please, all you experts, give me some pointers.

Take the general MS-DOS 7.10 bootable disk I made as an example (download address: http://newdos.yginfo.net/dosware/mdos71bd.zip). After downloading and extracting, directly run the MAKEBOOT.BAT file inside to make the bootable disk. Alternatively, you can also use software like HD-COPY, WinImage, etc., to expand the IMG file to a floppy disk to make a bootable disk.

What do you mean? Is it making your own bootable disk or just any bootable disk?

It means: I downloaded DOS 622 from the Internet, but there are only some programs in it. I don't know how to start DOS 622. I can only boot with a 98 disk now. Enter the folder and call the programs of DOS 622. Some still can't be used.

98 uses an MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk, which is naturally different from the MS-DOS 6.22 version. Programs can be run with the MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk.

You can download the DOS 622 boot disk on this site. After booting, use the sys command to transfer the system files to the hard disk.

Don't directly transfer it to the hard drive, as it will overwrite the original system. Also, pay attention to whether the partition format is FAT32. If it is, don't waste time. Give up DOS 6.22.

Yes, if the hard disk has FAT32, a large hard disk, or long filenames, you can use MS-DOS 7.10. Download an MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk, and then use the SYS command to transfer the system files to the hard disk.

Can DOS 622 be used with a partition using the NTFS file system? With a virtual machine, there are many bugs. DOS 622 uses FAT16.
