Among several DOS boot disks I downloaded, almost all boot disks using UMBPCI die halfway through booting because UMBPCI can't be used. Then I looked at the instructions for UMBPCI and found out that UMBPCI doesn't support AMD motherboards very well, and motherboards above KT266A are not well supported. I think such boot disks with compatibility issues will definitely bring a lot of inconvenience in actual use. Should they be improved properly, for example, replacing with Qemm386.sys? (Including the MS-DOS 7.0 boot disk made by the forum moderator also has this problem)

My MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk is dual - booted with EMM386 and UMBPCI, and the EMM386 mode is the default option, so it should not be a problem.

The compatibility of Qemm386.sys is not very good either. It's better to use EMM386.EXE and UMBPCI.SYS together, just like Wengier did. The boot disk I made can't load UMBPCI.SYS on some computers, but I've tried many computers and never had a situation where it crashed. It's just that all programs occupy conventional memory. Usually, there are more than 400K, which is basically sufficient.

My motherboard is KT133. When using the moderator's MS-DOS 7.1 boot disk, sometimes there are no errors, and sometimes there are errors. I don't know why. But when I use a motherboard that is not an AMD CPU series, there are no problems at all.

In the English description of UMBPCI, it seems that it should be no problem to support KT133!
