The only game under Windows 1.0: Balance of Power - China DOS Union Forum

Cold War-themed strategic simulation game. It is best not to run it using the micro Win1.0 environment in the package, as it is impossible to exit that environment. It is recommended to set up a Windows 1.01-1.04 environment (actually, after hooking dosver in this environment and disabling several Windows shortcuts in the shortcut settings, it can not only run directly under Win98 but even under WinXP).

I took a look at this game; it's a rare item. The real executable file of this game is just this one file, Bop.exe.

Personally, I think if some minor modifications are made to this game, it's very possible to run it directly under Windows XP.

The mentioned method was used for reverse engineering to try Reversi.exe in Win1.03. When running in Win98, it always has an illegal operation and you can only enter after ignoring it; for bop.exe, it fails. When running in Win98, there are continuous illegal operations and finally it exits with a general protection fault.
In addition, a small game Klotz that can run in Win2.1, 3.0, 3.1 was modified to be able to run normally in systems after Win9X.

Just tried casually, the unmodified klotz.exe can run in XP. As for bop.exe, it doesn't work, just for fun.

I can't add attachments either.
