I want to burn the GHOST files of two computers at home onto a DVD to make a DOS bootable disk, so that it won't occupy the hard disk space and is convenient to use.

I have tried the following methods:
1) Use Nero 7.0 --> DVD bootable disk --> dos.ima --> add 2 GHO files and ghost8.0.exe ||
But after booting, it stops at 1.44 disk.... and doesn't move. Pressing the ESC key, I see the cursor flashing in the upper left corner, and there's no other response.

2) Use Nero 7.0 --> DVD bootable disk --> 1.44 floppy drive (a DOS bootable floppy disk made under XP, which is verified to be bootable) --> add 2 GHO files and ghost8.0.exe || But when burning, it says some error and simply can't be burned.

3) Use EASYboot to make it. Nothing is changed, but after booting, it can enter the interface, but can't reach DOS.

Can any DX help me? I'm too stupid. I've been surfing the Internet to read relevant articles for three days, but still don't know how to do it correctly.

Thanks.

I'm also working on it. I found that the CD - ROM can be driven under DOS but it can't be seen in Ghost. I'm using Ghost 8.0!

I haven't tried making a DOS bootable disk for DVD. You can first try making a DOS bootable disk for DVD to see if it can boot, and then add files!

I have tested three DVDs. The bootable DVDs made by loading grubdisk.img or Ghost.IMA can boot, but the content inside is the one that the img originally came with. Even if I first load it with UltraISO and then add winxp.gho to burn it, the Ghost can boot but can't find the file I added. It's still in the experiment.

Burning a disc using Nero7 software, selecting the "DVD-ROM Boot" option and burning with its default image file, after booting to DOS in the XP system, GHOST cannot run, and an error prompt appears: ABORT:8027, A GeneralException occurred. The reason is that the image自带 by Nero is for dr-dos and cannot run GHOST. GHOST can only run under pc-dos or ms-dos.

Method for making a universal GHOST DVD boot disc:

Use Grubdisk.img extracted from Super Boot Disk GrubDisk 20060308 (or other 98.img, ghost.img) as the boot image file of Nero7.

Then some practical tools such as GHOST, PQ, DM, etc. can be added to the burned disc.

The default prompt after the DVD disc boots is A: Switch to the CD drive letter to use these software normally.

A 4.7GB DVD can burn 2 universal GHOST files. The test process is normal, the average speed is 200M/min, and the time consumption is 11:58, which is acceptable.

Please refer to the discussion forum article:

Contains Ghost 8.3 DVD production instructions!

1. DVD burning and reading must use an operating system above Windows 2000 to boot, the most important reason is the problem with the DVD UDF format, MS-DOS and Windows 9x systems do not support it.

2. Currently, uses WinXP SP2 + Ghost8.3 core, you can try it!

1. Super boot disk GrubDisk 20060308 extracts grubdisk.img (or other 98.img, ghost.img) as the boot image file of Nero7. Enable Nero advanced burning mode, create a DVD-ROM (boot) - image file, select grubdisk.img, and no need to select advanced settings.
2. Then you can drag tools such as ghost.exe, winxp.gho, winxp.ghs, pqmagic.exe, etc. to the disc directory.
3. After burning, you can use this disc to boot and select the CDROM support option.
4. After booting, the original file grubdisk.img under A: is seen, and we switch to the optical drive letter.
5. There are the files and gho files we added before under the optical drive letter.
6. Run ghost to perform ghost restoration, which supports ghost files segmented due to being larger than 2G.
6. The speed is 200M and can be completed in 11 minutes for restoration.
7. The speed may be due to the small amount of data read by the optical drive.

Wrong idea! To boot from a DVD startup disc, you just need an image file that can boot to DOS on the disc. Set it as the boot file in UltraISO. Then add GHOST.exe and your backup image into it. Save it. Burn the generated ISO into a disc. After booting, execute ghost in DOS to perform restoration. "But after booting, it stops at 1.44 disk.... and doesn't move" This is the boot file of the floppy drive, so it needs... In the disc, loading the DOS boot images of floppy drives and USB drives cannot be successful.
