I want to use ADSL to get online under DOS. After I run the Packet driver, I run lynx, but it shows the error in the picture below. What is the reason for this?? Thanks!!

Please try changing the value of my_ip= in WATTCP.CFG to DHCP.

I already changed it, but it still doesn't work! It shows the error message in the picture below. What should I do??

So it seems your TCP/IP does not support using DHCP for initialization. There are probably two possible reasons:
1: The Packet driver was not loaded correctly; 2: The TCP/IP on this network really does not support DHCP, so you can only set the IP parameters manually in WATTCP.CFG. |

As for the specific settings, especially manual TCP/IP setup, it's rather troublesome. How about this: go look at the TCP/IP settings in WIN, then COPY them into WATTCP.CFG and try that.

Moderator, I still don't understand. The ADSL I use is SeedNet metered service, and to get online I need the PPoE Adapter driver provided by SeedNet. After I run the winipcfg command, the result is as shown in the picture below. So how should I set it?? Many thanks to moderator Wengier!!

Oh right, the DOS version of Lynx cannot run in a Win9x DOS window.

Then you should be able to make it work by changing the various settings in WATTCP.CFG, such as IP address, Subnet mask, Hostname, Gateway, and so on, to match what WINIPCFG shows.
