Finally connected to the Internet using ADSL!
Both Arachne and Lynx succeeded...

But there are still some problems: I successfully configured Arachne using DHCP, but no matter how I configure Lynx, it doesn't work. In the end, I went online using a static IP. Also, for this DOS forum, Lynx can't display normally because there's a lack of a Unicode - supporting Chinese character system. I wonder if all the experts can give me a hand?

Use Tianhui Chinese Character System, which supports Unicode codes.

No translation needed as the text is in English. So the output is "不会吧,天汇支持unicode???"

May I ask brglng: How did you set it up? I'm learning about ADSL internet access, but I haven't got it working yet.

If you use a router to connect to the Internet via ADSL, after setting up the Internet access method in the router, Lynx, and other programs using Wattcp, such as those using DHCP, cannot automatically obtain an IP address and need to set the IP address manually. However, Arachne has no such problem.

Basically the same as in Windows. Since I'm using a router, I set "My_ip" to 192.168.0.2 (you can adjust it in the router settings yourself), set "gateway" (gateway) to the router's address, for example, mine is 192.168.0.1, "netmask" (subnet mask) is generally 255.255.255.0, and more importantly, set the DNS server (namesever). This depends on the region, and different regions have different DNS servers. Like here, it's 202.96.209.6 and 202.96.209.133. Then load the network card's Packet driver before starting Lynx, and set the LYNX_CFG environment variable to./lynx.cfg. Go to the directory where Lynx is located and type "lynx" to get started!

Oh! So that's how it is! I'm using a router. In that case, I have to configure the router to a fixed IP...
Also, I wonder if there is a Chinese character system that supports Unicode?
