Since the need for the 1.44M standard, **Looking for a minimal EDIT.COM**

I don't know how large the English version's proposed help file will be. The Chinese one should be larger than the English one, right?

This doesn't need to be too that way, right??? MS's EDIT has been separated from QBASIC, which should be enough, right?

1.44M can be safely formatted to 1.7M, that one is too conservative. The CD standard is 640 megabytes, but in fact everyone has exceeded it to 700 megabytes.

There are many text editors for DOS. I'll post two that I think are better, both very small.

The first MS Edit is really great. It is exactly the same as the original MS Edit, but the file is much smaller. I have been unable to compress edit.com in Windows 2003 all the time, but I found a smaller file here. Only MS's Edit can edit multiple files at the same time, switch between multiple windows, edit binary files, and support long filenames. It has no Alt hotkey conflict with Chinese character systems and supports various display modes (such as 50 lines on the display). It supports inputting special characters, and can input control characters by pressing Alt plus the numeric keypad... These functions cannot be supported simultaneously by other text editors. The Edit in many boot disks is not as convenient as MS's Edit.
