A few days ago, I downloaded a MAXDOS software. After installation, I wanted to reset the config.sys file in it. But I can't find the config.sys file in the BOOT of the software directory from c:\. There are only a few.gz compressed files. When I try to open them, it prompts that the files are corrupted. How can I find and modify the config.sys file?

I've never used MaxDOS before, but I often see its great name on the Internet.

MaxDOS should all be based on the MSDOS 7.1 kernel, similar to Wengier's super boot disk.

Config.sys is generally located in the root directory.

Is it using special techniques like Bart's BootDisk?

By the way, I ask the original poster, why is it so coincidental? I just brought up an old post of yours, and then you appeared. It's really strange.

I just used the boss's MSDOS710 boot disk. I want to modify the configuration in config.sys. I can't find config.sys in the BOOT directory. There are only cdboot.bs, MENU.lst, MSDOS.BS. How to find it?

Re Ahai:

As far as is currently known, the solution adopted by MaxDOS is to use Grub to load the boot disk image to boot into DOS. Its config.sys file is in its boot disk image file, set with the hidden attribute, and uses the .gz compression format. Directly modifying the config.sys after booting cannot be saved into the image file. It is recommended that other experts provide more detailed solutions.
