China DOS Union

I'm using WinME. Recently I wanted to use Ghost to restore the system. I was thinking of entering DOS under WinME and then going into Ghost, but I heard WinME doesn't have pure DOS, so I don't know whether what I want to do will work. Please advise, experts. Also, I know there's a patch for DOS real mode available for download here, but I don't know how to use it after downloading it. For example, how do I install it?

WinME does have a pure DOS mode, namely pure MS-DOS 8.00. Just download an MS-DOS 8.00 boot disk from the site's "DOS systems" section. If you want the patch, it's available for download in the site's "system tools" section (but if you've already downloaded the boot disk, then you don't need the patch).

No, first use a floppy disk image tool to extract the downloaded IMG file onto the floppy disk, then boot from the floppy and you'll be in pure MS-DOS 8.00.

Better not use WinME's DOS.

MS-DOS 8.00 is still pretty good, especially since the system files are small. But it also has some drawbacks, so I won't repeat them here.
