Right now DOS has basically been replaced by Windows, but there are still some tasks that are better done with DOS. I have an idea: there are many programming experts here, so could someone take the lead in developing the finest “Chinese-language DOS platform”? We users could help catch bugs. That way, on the one hand it could raise the forum's popularity, and on the other hand it would also provide some momentum for promoting DOS.
Developing DOS is not about shouting slogans, but about actually doing something practical, for example developing an excellent Chinese-language DOS platform. The existing DOS platforms are all outdated. For example, CCDOS97's user dictionary is too small, UCDOS98 cannot do FM tuning (it can't even put punctuation on top of characters when entering text), and as for the other DOS systems, there's even less need to mention them. So I very eagerly hope someone will come forward to develop a Chinese-language DOS platform.
