Samsung external hard drive, the first partition is set as an active primary partition, and I copied the system files over. In the BIOS I set the first boot device to USB HDD, but it still won't boot. My motherboard is 845pE-V2
What should I do??? I'm so anxious I'm about to piss my pants!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I've tried using KV2004's boot disk creation function to turn a USB flash drive into a boot disk (FREEDOS). Then I booted it in USB-ZIP mode. Later, under the DOS environment of WIN98, I used SYS C: to replace the system with MS-DOS. Not sure whether a hard drive can be done this way.
Or maybe your boot disk creation method is wrong. You should use FORMAT /S or the SYS command to make a boot disk; you can't just directly copy the boot files. |

Of course your method won't work. You can't just simply copy the system files and call it done. You have to use format/s under DOS to make the boot disk, or sys works too.
