How to display images under DOS;
or convert image files such as BMP into EXE or COM files under DOS.

My main purpose is to boot from 98, and display an image for a few seconds during startup.

There are plenty of image viewers under DOS. Try QuickView Pro and PictView, for example. QuickView Pro supports dozens of music/graphics/multimedia formats such as BMP, JPG, GIF, PCX, TGA, TIF, AVI, MOV, MPG, VCD, WAV, MP3, etc. There is a download in the site's "media software" section.

If it's just for viewing images, then use sea. I think it's the best for that. Converting to EXE is also fairly simple, but there's no way to exit automatically, which is pretty difficult.

If it's for making a logo, go to the logo and boot disk section.

Everyone should write out the command format, otherwise you're only saying half of it and then stopping!!
