After booting with EasyBoot, has DOS already been started? Can you freely run some DOS software?

The OP should take a look at EasyBoot's help documentation.

EasyBoot has a function called "generate a new floppy disk image"—what is it for?
The seed image file has to be an *img-type image, and the output is also an *img-type image, so what's special about that?

I have read its help file, but it only explains how to make this kind of *.img floppy disk image. It doesn't explain why the seed image file has to be an *img-type image and the output is also an *img-type image, or what's special about that.
